What if you could make your teeth as beautiful as your nails in an instant? Well, in Essex veneers can give your broken, stained, chipped, cracked or misaligned teeth an instant makeover.
Miraculous things can be done with veneers. They can be used on small teeth to make them appear bigger and close up the gaps between them. They can be put over a crooked tooth to make it appear straight. They can lengthen teeth worn down by use. They can fill the black triangles between teeth caused by receding gums. They can strengthen weak teeth and whiten yellow teeth.
At Simply Teeth, veneers in Essex are either made of porcelain, or a material known as composite.
At Simply Teeth, we generally use porcelain veneers, which are custom-made to blend in with your teeth. It usually takes 2 visits to fit the veneers in Essex. During the first visit we take impressions of your teeth and send them to the lab for veneers to be made. Then we need another appointment to fit them.
When you come to us for your second appointment, the dentist will prepare the tooth so that the veneer can be glued onto it. They will remove the very top-most layer of tooth enamel. This is done for 2 reasons. Firstly, we need to create a rough surface for the fixative to adhere too, rather like the old gloss paint on a door has to be keyed before more paint is applied. The second reason is so that your veneers lie flush with neighbouring teeth.
Fitting is performed under local anaesthetic, and, if you are nervous, you can also receive sedation. Once these tiny durable sheaths have been fitted, they can last for more than 10 years if you take care of them.
Composite veneers in Essex are generally moulded onto your teeth, although they can be made separately in a lab and fixed on afterwards. Composite material is similar to that which is used in white fillings, and is often a resin called Panavia. Composite veneers generally do not last as long, but they are well-suited to the front teeth, which have a smaller bite surface.
